Bill Lindstaedt, M.S., is a UCSF administrator and career counselor specializing in career development issues for doctoral level trainees in the sciences. At UCSF, he manages a group of offices known as Career Advancement, International and Postdoctoral Services (CAIPS). In addition to his leadership responsibilities, his career advising work focuses on helping PhD-level research scientists move into rewarding post-training careers. Bill is a co-author of Science Magazine's myIDP, a free career development tool designed to help research scientists take charge of their careers. myIDP has been used by more than 200,000 scientists and is recommended by dozens of graduate and postdoc programs around the country.
